Statement for Constellation Schools: Outreach Academy for Students with Disabilities
A special Board meeting was held on Monday April 3, 2017 at 6:00 PM for Constellation Schools: Outreach Academy for Students with Disabilities. Board members received information on the declining enrollment over the last five years. After much discussion regarding available alternatives, the Board determined that the school was unlikely to meet the required enrollment and sustain it for the 2017–2018 school year or thereafter. Additionally, it acknowledged that even if the minimum targets were achieved, a significant financial deficit would still exist. Based upon those factors, the Board unanimously decided with heavy heart, that remaining open for the 2017–2018 school year was not viable.
“We are very proud of the educational services we have provided over the years and our staff members who have been instrumental in compassionately meeting the educational needs of these special students. We are saddened by this difficult decision.” states Rebecca Keeney Executive Director of Constellation Schools LLC.
“Our executive team will work with our families and staff members for a smooth transition throughout the required closing procedures,” she adds.
